What are your safeties?

William and Mary and VCU are mu safeties.

What’s your unweighted gpa on the 4.0 scale? Depending on your school, 90% is right around the A/B cutoff point, so if you’re roughly equal between them, around a 3.5?

WM considers only the M+CR of SAT. I don’t think you can consider WM a “safety” with a 1410/1600 SAT and a gpa around 3.5/4.0, not even for IS. (I think it’s probably a good match/target for you, though.) Those numbers are just not above average for WM. An above average SAT score might overcome a below average gpa (for them), though.

UVA tends to take very few applicants with gpa <=3.6. They tend to look to gpa first, test scores mainly to confirm the gpa. If yours isn’t 3.7+ unweighted, it’ll be tough for you.

VCU is a solid safety for you. So is VT (they do a lot more than engineering, don’t fail to check them out).

I wouldn’t consider William and Mary a safety. It is often at least as hard to get into as UVA, if not harder. I’ve known students that got into UVA but not WM and vice versa

UVA is high match thanks to being in-state.
Duke and Northwestern are reaches. Northwestern’s acceptance rate goes way up with ED and they accept a majority of their students ED so look into it.

You need more leadership positions. And work on your scores.

Good luck!
