You have a chance, but I would say that many applicants will have similar stats to yours

Everyone applying will have great stats. And everyone wants to go to Wharton.

I would take both AP economics courses this year, and also try to come up with some new entrepenuerial type EC this year.

That being said, you don’t HAVE to go to Wharton to be a success. I have an MBA from Michigan, and many of my classmates have done super well in life.

Agreed with that. That’s why applying to Michigan as well- thought it was a great school esp after my two week stay. What do you think of my chances to Ross- preferred admission, if you have an opinion? Thanks.

Being asian/white is definitley going to hurt you as they are over-represented. If you have only taken 4 AP’s that is going to look bad (your school having limited AP’s does not count as an excuse as you can self-study anything). I would recommend definitley self-studying atleast 2 AP’s if you can handle it, and put that on your application. Don’t take this badly but your stats (from what I’ve read) seem pretty weak especially for your ethnicity and I am assuming your family has a high income? (because you have been to France) although I shouldn’t really assume. I would recommend writing an essay on finance/business/entrepenueral story or something business-related that has changed your life or that Applies to yourinterests in business. Raise your GPA and do your best to get a 4.0. Wharton is VERY competitive and many applicants if not all stats rival and go above yours. Don’t give up; do something amazing! Apply ED! Goodluck hope all your endeavors get accomplished!

Your application is put in the context of your school. As long as you have taken the most rigorous schedule at your school, you won’t be disadvantaged for not having taken certain/more APs. I don’t think Penn really cares if you “self-study” APs because the fact is that you won’t get significant credit for most of them when you get here anyway (the level of courses at Penn is much higher than that of AP tests). Rather than doing that you should focus on what your school offers whether it be academics or other things outside of the class room that you are interested in. Be genuine, don’t do things for your application, it looks very obvious when people do that. If you have a few things you are very committed to, which although I can’t say for sure, but it looks like you do, don’t waste time worrying about extracurriculars.
