Please Chance Me :)

Hi guys,

I was just hoping somebody could chance me for getting into Northeastern University, possibly the honors college. I know it is a lot but I would truly appreciate any feedback!! I will post my details below.

New SAT scores: 1470 (750 Math, 720 English)

SAT Subject Test Scores: 750 Math1, 750 Math2

Rank: School does not Rank

GPA: I did very poorly freshman year but did quite well during my others. I made my “growth” a major highlighted part of my application. I am also from a very competitive and renowned school.
3.6 unweighted (3.28 freshman year, 3.71 sophomore year, 3.73 junior year, 3.77 senior year first semester)
4.19 weighted (3.8 freshman year, 4.23 sophomore year, 4.4 junior year, 4.63 senior year first semester)
Our school’s weighted GPA works like - A in Honors = 4.5 and A in AP = 5.0. Each drop in grade = -0.3 (a A- in an honors class is a 4.2 and an A- in an AP class is a 4.7)
*The average weighted GPA from our school to get into Northeastern is a 4.1

Thanks everyone!

How did you do on the PSAT? If you’re a National Merit finalist and hold a 4.0, in your case closer to a 5.0 weighted, you qualify for half tuition there

You have a great chance at Northeastern, but the honors college is difficult to be accepted to as only the top 10% of applicants are considered. The lowest test scores they usually consider are around a 33 ACT and 2200 SAT superscored, and the GPA cutoff is usually around a 3.8 UW.

Oh okay, thanks a ton that cleared a lot up! Would it be fair to say that Northeastern would be a match and the honors college would be a solid reach in that case?
