According to the Villanova Admissions Statistics (https://www1.villanova.edu/villanova/admission/overview/undergrad/statistics.html), your GPA is right on the lower end of their range and your ACT is about 4 points below Nova’s low end ACT. Do you think you have time to retake the ACT or SAT? I think if you put in the time, you could score well above a 30. However, your ECs look decent so I think you have a good chance at Nova.

Villanova is a ‘score school’ so a 26 will not help you there. But if you improve your score and play up community service you may have a shot

My Evaluation Form for Student’s on College Confidential:

GPA: 9/10 (Great)

SAT/ACT Scores: 5/10 or 6/10 (Not very good and it is not very consistent with your GPA, try to take it again or try taking the SAT)

SAT II Scores: N/A

Rigorous Courses?: I see no information regarding the rigor of your academic schedule.

AP’s: N/A (AP scores have little effect on admissions)

EC’s: Average. You participated in many activities. However, there is not “trend” I see in your actives. There aren’t many leadership positions either.

Volunteer/Work: I really like the work you did as a volunteer. It shows that you are willing to work to help others.

Recommendations: “Strong”

Awards: N/A (I do not usually expect students to have any unique awards)

Essays: “Strong”

Villanova and Bucknell: I would say you have a good shot if you improve your SAT scores as well as demonstrate your passions in EC’s more. Keep up the good work in your classes and volunteer work.

Other Comments:

I would say demonstrating interest can help you a little (better so than not showing interest at all). One way to raise your chances is by apply EA or ED.

Being an usher and Eucharistic minister at your church doesn’t seem that impressive to me. It just sounds like your trying to stretch your EC’s and make a longer list. Remember quality over quantity. Additionally, I do not usually consider NHS an EC because sooooooooo many people have it and in many schools, it’s more of a title than an activity.

I evaluate people brutally, mostly from an Ivy League perspective. However, I also try to be accurate and answer your questions as best as I can! Feel free to ask me anything! Questions and comments are always welcome! Good luck and have a great day!

Have to disagree with you on the Eucharistic Minister/usher thing. Villanova is a Catholic school, so that is very relevant for them. Not important for Bucknell, but for the Catholic schools an applicant should include it

My apologies, I did not realize that. I would include it on Catholic school applications. However, you should highlight your other achievements first and include your Minister and usher activities when you feel it is necessary.

Great job and Good luck!

Thank you guys for the feedback I do appreciate it. @WhiteGhost26 It is hard to show on this discussion but I have a passion for a numerous amount of ECs. Also I took 1 AP jr year and I am taking 3 this year along with a rigorous honors English class. My other option is applying ED at the College of the Holy Cross where I believe I have a strong chance. However I want to see if I could get into Bucknell or Villanova but I don’t want to decrease my chance at Holy Cross if I don’t ED. So basically should I really have any shot at Bucknell or Villanova or should I apply ED at HC? Thanks so much!!
