  • Archdiocesan Youth Advisory Board. Give feedback to archdiocesan youth ministers, pastors, and archbishop on how to bring youth of the Archdiocese of Louisville closer to their faith. Also helped plan the Archdiocesan Catholic Youth Conference that took place in March of 2019. Grades 10-12.
  • Homeroom Mom. As a junior, led a freshmen homeroom of 26 students during their first semester transition to high school. Planned bonding activities, presented school information, and oversaw homeroom calendar. Went through a highly selective process including written and video application to be selected. Grade 11.

  • School Mission Trip. Planning to go to Washington, D.C. to perform advocacy at Capitol Hill during school’s Mission Week in February 2020. Grade 12.
  • Volunteer at Parish. Active volunteer within parish including weekly Parish Religious Education Program special education teacher, Eucharistic Minister, parish picnic volunteer, ministry fair volunteer, Helping Hands Community Project volunteer. Grades 9-12.

EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE

  • Lawn Service. Weekly care of five neighborhood lawns. Manage own business including invoicing, scheduling, and customer interaction. Self-funded trips to Australia & New Zealand and various domestic backpacking excursions. Grade 8-12.
  • Concession Stand Employee. Served refreshments to attendees of various sports games while managing concession stand cashier. Created a clean environment after sporting events by sweeping bleachers, athletic floor, cleaning concession stand, and removing trash. Grades 9 & 10.

Schools: Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame (first choice), UNC-Chapel Hill, Villanova, Purdue, IU, Loyola Chicago. Also considering applying to Wellesley but still on the edge…

Majors: It really depends on the program and school. I’m planning to enter as something along the lines of public policy for all of them.
