Alexandre,
Do you have the authority to ban certain users from posting...

I have the authority to edit and delete posts and to ban posters. A poster must really be offensive for me to ban her/him. In my 3 years as moderator, I have never banned anybody and I have rarely edited to deleted posts.

Coolbreeze is not offensive and I am sure he is sincere in his remarks. I agree everyone is entitled to their opinion, for whatever reason, but sometimes we have to take the advice of others as well and become less vocal about things we have limited information about.

As the thread may show, we all have our own judgement.

So considering that we're in thread about life at U of M, can anyone comment on the greek life at Ann Arbor? I had a separate thread, but it seems like there are some current students who might be insightful.

There's a first time for everything, Alexandre ;)

coolbreeze- just STOP. you don't know what you're talking about, and you won't until you go visit campus. i had some of the same opinions about umich's campus as you do, until i actually went there. what you hear from friends or see in pictures online simply do not compare to going in person and seeing the campus (and if you live in michigan i don't see why you wouldn't? unless you're in the UP or something).

and for anyone else who cares, michigan's campus is lovely. the architecture is really nice to look at. it has the whole gothic thing going on for many of the buildings, and it also has modern looking buildings as well. just walking down to the michigan union building, the buildings are so nice to look at. there are plenty of trees and grassy areas. and the city of ann arbor itself is great. there is SO much to do. the amount of restaurants, shops, and little boutiques amazes me. there really is something for everyone!

and there may not be an 18 mile stretch of grass or forest in the middle of campus, but seriously? why would you want so much of that? go live in the woods or something or go to michigan tech in the middle of no where. there's plenty of nature in ann arbor, especially on north campus.

pseudovirus I'm not even going to put effort to responding to such a rude and outrageous comment of yours.

There will be no need for that.

i agree with chinaismine lol

18 mile stretch of grass? well, the arboretum might come close. it's 1 block away from markley (a dormitory). you could probably look at it on google maps or google earth.
