First point: Its Baylor College of Medicine, not Baylor School of Medicine (BCM). Secondly, BCM is not affiliated with Baylor University in Waco TX or the Baylor University hospital system in Dallas. BCM and Rice were considering merger a few years back but it fell through. Apart from the combined Rice-BCM program, there is no other formal affiliation that I’m aware of.
My point was that premed undergrads from Rice who apply to BCM are somewhat at a disadvantage, unless they are in the combined program. Reason is that given the limited # of slots, BCM opts for school diversity. So filling half the class with Rice grads is not going to happen.
But what you wrote about notable # of Baylor University undergrads attending BCM is correct.
@AsianKid10: each college handles the committee letter differently. I urge you to call up the health professions office at A&M and ask. But for an overview of the process, see the link below from the AAMC:

Thank you for correcting me, I wrote school instead of college. I didn’t say that BCM is officially associated with Rice even though they are located next doors, work closely and even considered a merger.
If you look at number of Rice admits there, it’s quite high considering Rice’s small size compared to TAMU. Top Rice kids who get accepted to BMC often get accepted to other top medical programs outside Texas and many enroll there instead.
Rice now offers another combined program with UT health system though McGovern.
Baylor University is also much smaller compare to UT and TAMU but sends a higher percentage to medical schools. They also have close ties and a combined program with BCM.
