Please give me advice

Wow, thanks for the encouragement. Any suggestions as to other schools I should look at?

I have no idea where you’re located, what type of school you’re looking for, or anything like that, but based on your info here’s a list of schools that might be a good fit:

Tufts
Emory
Washington and Lee
Notre Dame
University of Pennsylvania

Those are just a few schools that seem like target schools for you. I picked ones that are really different (Penn is Ivy, Washington and Lee is small and liberal arts, Tufts is bigger and more urban) to give you a chance to see which schools you’d like. Once you determine the type of school, find ones that fit your criteria and fall into place with your scores.

Good luck with everything college related!!

Thank you. Do you think that my resume would be competitive enough to get into the University of Pennsylvania? Also, in regards to getting into medical school, is it smarter to go to a competitive and well known school such as the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins, etc. or a smaller school where I would stand out more.

For your med school problem, I’ve heard people say both things, but I think if you believe that you get a decent grade at the stronger premed schools (JHU, Upenn), those are better because they tend to have more opportunities in bio areas. I know that’s the case for JHU because my friend goes there. Also, its not as difficult to stand out as a premed student at Upenn then it is to stand out as say, a business student. As for whether you can get in, I think you have a decent shot, especially if you raise your SAT, and you have plenty of time for that. Also, Upenn and JHU both have ED, so if you become dead set on one of them by app time next year, you can boost your chances that way :).

Thanks for the advice. You guys are helping me out a ton. I really appreciate it. Keep it coming; I’d like to get as many opinions as I can.

bump bump bump

Like people have said before, you really just need something to help you stand out, a “hook” as people often call it. That is how you’ll get into Penn and Hopkins and other amazingly competitive schools.
