Hello All-

I am doing a research project on how people feel about Bipolar and Schizophrenia. Can you guys please take my survey at the link below. Its is 100% anonymous and confidential. It is very short. Thank you so much for your time.

Attitudes on Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia

It’s kind of hard to “rate how safe you would feel around an individual with [a given disorder]” They are, as you mention, individuals; and I wouldn’t feel the same way around each and every one. I probably wouldn’t even feel the same way around one particular person all the time.

I’m also surprised that you’re making the default assumption that people with these disorders are more likely to commit crimes than other people are. It’s possible that they are; I haven’t read any research on it. But given that you’re sampling attitudes and beliefs rather than asking someone to tell you what the research says, it seems odd that the question is phrased so as to suggest that they are, and there’s not any way to answer that you think they commit fewer (which is what my gut instinct was).

I ended up not submitting the survey because I’m not even sure how to answer at least four of the questions. I’ll check the thread later, though, and if you have any suggestions maybe I’ll make it through on a second pass.
