A lot of 4.5 year students (like myself) are double majors who have completely unrelated majors (e.g. for me it is IB and Latin). As of this semester on (this is my fourth semester), other than Sanskrit 100B and Sanskrit 101A in Spring 11 and Fall 11 respectively and IB 166 in Spring 10, every class I take will be for my majors and their honors programs and I will still need a ninth semester

Graduating early isn’t hard. I’m graduating in 7 semesters even though I can do it in 6. I’m staying for the extra semester to finish my MCB Honors research. It’s certainly nice to have only 2 classes for my last semester.

tastybeef, how did you manage to do it in 6 semesters? did you use your ap bio credit to accelerate? i’m on a tight budget financially as well, my parents can’t afford more than 3 yrs for my university education.

and i’m curious abt whats the scope/syllabus for bio 1a/ 1 al/ bio 1b? why is it so hard? i’m absolutely confused. :x

I planned out my classes carefully and didn’t waste time on breadth classes. During the summers of my high school and recent years, I took many community college classes that satisfied the breadth requirements. As a result, I finished all my breadth requirements by the end of my freshman year.

I took around 3 summer night courses at community colleges each summer while interning and doing research. I mean, why would I want to waste my semesters taking classes that I have no interest in? Take advantage of the fact that UC’s accept community college course credits. These are easy units that cost next to nothing and require very minimal efforts to get A’s in, even in multivariable calc and linear algebra. Also, if you apply to med school, these easy A’s will boost your overall GPA.
