Hi! So i really would like to go to UCF or USF i have heard so many different things about people getting accepted or denied from those schools.
If you have an experience in that field or have gotten accepted or declined from these schools please post your stats!

here are mine:
3.4 gpa 3.6 hpa
1590 sat, ( just took act last weekend) Hoping for a good score and will submit when recieved

100+ community service hours
Great essay and resume
In clubs/ pretty involved
Competed at business competitions and in honors societys
Captain of sports team

I havw already got accpeted from unf, fgcu, alabama , ut and uwf

Also applied to usf and ucf what do you think my chances are!? Please help!

Thanks !

P.s. i have been deferred from ucf:( but please chance me for usf!!

What term did you apply for?

Have you taken an advanced classes? If so, how many?

Have you taken foregon language classes?

What is the highest math you’ve reached?

So far it looks like you’ll be accepted conditionally for summer term.

I applied for the summer 2014 term!

I have 2-3 succes factors

560 on sat writing
Pre calc honors math
4 sciences (lab)

Almost all my classes are honors leve ( no aps)
And i have taken 2 years of spanish

I’d say its a high match/low reach.

They have had my transcripts and test scores since september 5th 2013 so its now been alsmot 2 months and im getting worried! I was deferred from ucf, and i listed the schos i was aceepted, i just hope i get in!

This quarter i got overall a 3.75 gpa and 3.9 hpa, should i send in a new transcript with those grades on it!?

Thanks for the reply !

With only 2-3 success factors, they should accept you for summer term. It may or not be conditional.

What’s a hpa?

it is an honors grade point average!

Ok. Why you need to do I recalculate your GPA to how USF does it. Use that GPA with the chart. Your chances for acceptance might just go up because your 3.4 is unweighted right?

yes the 3.4 is unweighted and the 3.6 is weighted its out of a 4.5 instead… how do i re calculate to how usf does it?

i saw their matrix chart and i was using my 1590 and 3.6 ethier way im in the light blue which indicates possible admission for summer

ive just heard mixed things! people seem to be getting deffered with higher scores!!

and some getting in with way lower!

thanks !

I just realized my post don’t make sense! So many typos! :p

I meant: “What you need to do is recalculate your GPA to how USF does it.”

USF calculates GPA by letter grades.
A 90-100 4 points
B 80-89 3 points
C 70-79 2 points
D 60-69 1 point
F 59 or lower 0 points

Add 1 point to the grades value if it is an AP/IB/AICE course.
Add half a point to the grade’s value if it is an honors/pre-AP/IB/AICE course.

Add up your number and divide by the number of grades.

That’s good that you’ve studied the chart. USF factors in more than just in applicant’s scores in their decision. They still see what you’ve participated in, how you’ve demonstrated leadership skills and how you’ve volunteered! I think you have a chance.

Ok! Thank!

I just recieved my first quarter grades and got:

Accounting A
English honors A
Marine science A
Finance A
Econonmics B
Pre cal honors : on flvs not finished

So i have about a 3.8 gpa and 4.1 hpa

Should i send in a new transcript that inudes these grades? Will it help out!

Paid the application fee and submitted everything except SAT scores. I did the SAT in Oct, received a 1600 (m+w+c) I could of easily gotten around (1800) but due to test day mishaps i ended up with a horrid 1600 (not happening again). Is a December SAT risky? My application has already been submitted though, its just the marks missing.

My goal for December is 2000+

Just got accepted with a 3.8/29 ACT, also got in to Honors College and a $12k per year scholarship. I think you’ll get in, it took them a long time to accept me (probably because they award scholarships with acceptance).

It just depends on when they get your application in relation to where they are in the application rounds.

All in good time, young grasshopper. All in good time.

i am from the Caribbean and things are a little different. When i sent in school exam results they calculated it to be 3.5-4-0 but i am currently in the process of raising it. If all goes well i might have a 3.8 or so but I wouldn’t be getting those results until February but the USF admission officer i spoke to in person said not to worry as long as I send in my application before the deadline which i have already done.

I hope i feel like ive been waiting forver i applied early to increase my chances but it seems that they had it so long!

Its reaching 8 weeks ahh!

How lond exactly did your app take? Thanks!

Anthony you have a really good shot google usf matrix grid it should help

so did you get accepted???
