Alright, here is the deal, my parents say they are willing to contribute 30k a year, but I didn't get the best grades... so I didn't get the scholarships and that means I have to pick up the rest with loans... or go to a state school

My projected major is computer engineering and I would say I am a more introverted person who might benefit from a more "community" feeling... I am also concerned that I might not get into the right computer engineering program at some of the competitive public schools...
College ... projected debt after 4 years

University of Illinois 56456
Purdue University 37968
University of Washington 28480
University of Rochester 102920 -LOL, not happening
Seattle University 13752
Santa Clara University 46836
Oregon State .. 0

Oregon State looks like a great option. UW would be wonderful for under 30K a year, but that’s still nearly 120K over four years that your parents could put toward something else. Would they let you go to OSU and spend the 120K on a house for you as a graduation present? :)

Oregon State! That’s a great deal! And no stress although if you are really dead set against it I would go to UDub, but nothing beats a full ride! Maybe mom and dad can get you a car and some pizza money for 4 years ;-)

I have to say, lucky you that your parents are picking up the tab!

I would go with Oregon State. You never know if you’re going to have a job or not when you graduate or if you’ll be able to pay back those loans or not when you get out of school. Can’t go wrong w/ $0 debt!
