Please help me. DD:

I'm a rising Junior, and Columbia is my dream school. Unfortunately, my grades up until now haven't been so good, so could I get any advice on how to mend my grades/ECs in order to become even slightly eligible?

GPA:
UW 3.83
W 3.89

SAT Subject Tests:
BiologyM 790
Math IIC 760

PSAT
Sophomore 207

ECs
Speech and Debate (Won numerous district trophies and qualified to State)
Leo Club
FBLA
Poetry written and published
Paid intern for a law firm over the the summer
Student Council Orientation Committee
Committee to ensure good relations between school and neighboring Indian tribes

I know my grades and ECs are not ready yet, but am I totally hopeless? Could I make it all up in Junior year/summer?

those aren't bad grades, unless you go to a really bad public school where anyone remotely smart gets a 4.0.

focus on figuring out what your academic and extracurricular passions are, and pursuing those as deeply as possible.

Your overall stats are not shabby at all, and to echo the above poster, that GPA is only bad if your school has extremely inflated grades. Where do you stand in terms of rank?

My school doesn't rank, thank god.

It's just that I go to a really competitive Asian high school where everyone is aiming for the ivies. (Me being an Asian male doesn't really help either. D: ) We send like 60-80 or some ridiculous figure to the top 25 every year.

Grades are fine.

Do you think that you're competitive amongst your peers? Are your ECs something that you thought to do yourself or do most people from your school have a similar set of ECs?
