Please, help me make my college list

<p>What colleges do you think are my fits according to my stats and my nees?</p>

<p>Gender: F
Location: Romania
College Class Year: 2012
High School: Public
High School Type: has sent only 2 students ever in the US</p>

<p>GPA: 9.96 out of 10</p>

<p>Class Rank: top 5 students
Class Size: 250</p>

<p>Scores:
SAT II Math Level 2 (IIC): 760
SAT II Biology - M: 720
SAT II Chemistry: 790
I have not taken SAT I yet, I expect somewhere around 700 for CR and Writing and 750 or more for Math.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
National Organization Romanian Scouts (11 and 12: 30 weeks per year plus this summer);
preparing for chemistry olympiads by myself(9,10,11,12);
Math Excellence Center (the town's team for the math contests and olympiads);
Math Excellence Center (the town's team for the math contests and olympiads) (9,11: about 10 weeks per year);
Scientific Circle "Rusidava" (a kind of literary circle, but it's based on science, especially math) (late 11,12);
Member of the biology research project "Investigating nature's secrets", whose aim is to classify all the plants from our town and surroundings (planned for 6 months, starting June this year);
School's Christmas carol choir (9,10: 5 weeks per year);
Plan to start a kind of club next year, where I can teach younger students some more advanced chemistry and prepare them for the olympiads, but I don't expect too many members since there are few students interested in chemistry in my highschool.</p>

<p>Leadership positions: I don't have any title in my ECs because there are no such titles, but I am really involved in all of them.</p>

<p>Work: Avon sales representative for 4 years (the papers were on my mother's name because I wasn't 18, this school year I plan to make the papers on my name)</p>

<p>Honors and Awards:
bronze medal for chemistry at the international olympiad "Tuymaada", Russia, in 2006;
mention at the national chemistry olympiads in 2005 and 2007; I was in the national top 10 for my age level;
special mention at the national chemistry olympiad in 2006 (10 grade);
1st prize every year at the regional chemistry olympiad, 2nd prize in 9 grade at the regional math olympiad;
some minor prizes at a few math contests in 9 and 10 grade.</p>

<p>Summer programs:
National Chemistry camp - 2005;
National Chemistry camp (Summer school) - 2006;
National chemistry camp (Summer school) - 2007;</p>

<p>I plan to major in chemistry or biochemistry and become a researcher when I finish my studies, but I prefer pure science rather than engineering. I would also like to take some courses related to french or spanish or environmental studies, maybe even a minor in one of those.</p>

<p>Another very important aspect is financial aid. My family income is around 18000$ and my parents won't be able to contribute more than a few thousand dolars towards my education.</p>

<p>Most universities do not give out significant aid to international students. Check out the following:</p>

<p>California Institute of Technology
Columbia University
Harvard University
Harvey Mudd College
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Princeton University
Rice University
Washington University-St Louis
Yale University</p>

<p>I will get back to you with a list of good Liberal Arts Colleges that are good in the sciences.</p>

<p>Keep in mind that all of those schools are very selective (mostly reaches and a couple of matches), so be sure to find a list of a few good safeties that would give good aid.</p>

<p>Some good LACs to consider:</p>

<p>Amherst College
Bowdoin College
Carleton College
Davidson College
Grinnell College
Haverford College
Middlebury College
Pomona College
Williams College</p>

<p>You have a really good background. If you cannot find enough financial aid for the undergraduate years, you could still come to the US for graduate school. There is a lot of aid for that. Good luck.</p>

<p>Thanks a lot for your help!</p>

<p>You might also want to consider some of the smaller or lesser known LACs. I can think of a couple which might be very pleased to have an ambitious international student on campus, and they might have some money for aid.</p>

<p>Pittsburgh environs has a huge Romanian population (especially fencers!), and they sometimes offer support for US study.</p>

<p>Good luck.</p>

<p>Thanks! Please, can you list the colleges you "can think"</p>

<p>I would add Stanford to Alexandre's list </p>

<p>Also I think that internationals are need blind in HYP...</p>
