please help me with this writing question

guys i need your help !

A(That) our professor spoke B(so movingly) about our history,
C(but knew) D(so very little) about it, is perplexing. E(No error)

the answer is E, no error, but can you use 'very' right after 'so'?
D sounds way weird to me. what dyou think?

Yes, the answer is E, but this question does not sound like a reasonable type. D is grammatically correct - it is an idiom and used correctly as an adverb - , but it suffers severely from colloquiallism. Additionally, the comma before "is" is illogically placed, at best.
