Please Help Me.

I am Egyptian. I already graduated last June. I got accepted at Dartmouth ED for the class of 2020, but I couldn’t attend because of a mistake that I made in the CSS profile which lead to a modest financial aid offer. I applied at Harvard, Yale, NorthWestern, and UChicago RA, but I got waitlisted by UChicago and rejected by the rest of them. Unfortunately, I ended up with no college to attend. My SAT score is 2200. My GPA is 4 out of 4. I have some pretty good extracurricular activities, I guess. Right now, I want to apply ED/EA for Fall 2017 at one of the top schools. However, I still don’t know which one and can not decide. Should I consider applying at Dartmouth once again? Or should I apply at UChicago since I got waitlisted which means I have a chance? Or should I apply at Princeton since it’s need-blind? Or should I apply at Stanford or any other university? Please Help Me.

How much money can you and your family afford to spend, per year, in US Dollars?

When you say you made a mistake on your CSS profile, do you mean that you overstated your family’s income, and that if corrected, you would have received more aid?

I don’t know the nature of the Dartmouth mistake and financial aid offering, so i won’t comment on re-applying there.

You could apply ED at any school and, if that failed, you could try ED2 at UChicago.

I suggest adding some schools that you could afford with little, or no, financial aid. Public universities and less-known private universities – some of which are quite good – usually have a lower price tag than the tip-top private universities. If you like them and they are affordable, these would be strong backup for your reach schools.

Finally, here is a list of schools that give a lot of financial aid to international students:

@prezbucky Yes, that’s exactly what happened.
My family can afford to pay about ~15k per year, in US Dollars.
The problem with the Public universities, as well as the less-known private universities, that they rarely offer financial aid or scholarships for International students.
I will take the schools in the list into consideration, thanks a lot.

Have you talked to the Dartmouth financial aid office to review your likely financial aid package once the correction is made?

Did you email Dartmouth to explain the mistake? Did you discuss financial aid issues with their financial aid office?

@siliconvalleymom @MYOS1634 I did, but after it was too late, unfortunately. I told them that I wouldn’t be able to attend, because of the modest financial aid offer, in January. Then, in April, I discovered the mistake. So they told me that it’s too late, but if they were to accept anyone from the waiting list, they would review my offer. But nothing happened.

Re contact our regional representative and say they were your first choice, you weren’t able to attend because the financial aid offer was so different from the NPC… And it’s only in Aprilnpu realized there’s been a mistake when you filled out css. Remind them of the dates of our conversations to remind them out were intent on coming the whole time. Then say Dartmouth is still our #1 choice and you plan to apply ED. Should you include the above in the 'additional information ’ on the common app?

Could it be that Dartmouth doesn’t see it as a mistake but a change to the data? I think that ship may have sailed.
