Hi, I was admitted to both UCB and Midd. However, when i applied to UCB,i was not sure what to major in. So i applied major undecided and was admitted into the college of natural resources. Has anyone got any idea about environmental science and environmental economics? Are the majors nice?

On the other hand, Midd offers a 3+2 engineering program with Dartmouth or Columbia. However, it takes 5 years and the bachelor's degree from Dart or Columbia under this program may receive different recognition from the employers and etc . Can Anyone who has been through this program shed some light?

So which one should i choose? Does the undergrad major matter very much? Will the major affect your graduate school options and job prospectives much?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I haven’t actually been to either school (yet), but as a resident Californian, i have some opinions about the UC system.
California is running out of money. Fast. Who knows if you’ll be able to get into all of the classes you want-- classes that often will be filled with hundreds of people. But, maybe that’s the college experience you’re looking for… All i know is that going to Berkeley you would be a small fish in a veryvery large undergraduate pond. I have friends who both love Cal, and who regret going to a state-funded school at a time like this.

About the specific majors, I hope someone else has good advice for you.

ya, Im having the same concern too. Thx for ur help anyway:)

I think you’d be nuts not to go to Midd with those choices, unless cost is the primary issue.
