I'm going to become a sophmore in high school soon and I want to pursue a career in the medical field (mainly a doctor). I go to a private catholic high school and my school doesn't offer that many ap or honor courses. Here are my grades in my freshman year of high school:
Algebra Honors: A
Biology: A
World History Honors: A
English Honors: A
Art: B+
Gym: A
Spanish 1: A
I honestly don't know what to do because I feel like many colleges won't be interested in me due to the lack of advanced courses. Advice please!!!

Umm If you want to take more mature classes since your school doesn’t offer that much, just take them at a community college ;p

Your application is judged by how challenging your record is given the options offered by your school. If you high school doesn’t offer APs, so instead you take all Honors classes, the guidance counselor will still check “took the most demanding coursework” box on your GC rec. That’s what a college really cares about.

If you want to do dual enrollment with a CC–and it’s allowed by your school–be cautious. Since CC coursework generates a reportable transcript, any grades you earn there will be included in your GPA calculations when you go to apply for professional programs (law school, med school, PA school, PT school, etc.) So if decide to go the CC route–don’t screw up.

You may also be eligible to take internet-based high school AP classes. There are number of reputable programs. (Ask in the Parent’s Forum for names of programs.) Or you may be eligible to cross-enroll in AP classes at one of your local public high schools. Check with your school’s guidance office to see what policies your school has w/r/t to those options.

tl;dr you can’t take what’s not offered.
