---also I am a Russian immigrant-----

This summer I also plan to get a job and volunteer at a hospital. I am also a musician and I have been involved in art for quite some time.

If I keep on improving my overall record, do you think I will have a chance at getting accepted at well known public universities?
Ex - UW Madison
- Univ. Minnesota
- UCSC
- etc.
Also if I raise my stats, could I have a shot at going to NYU?

Well, I will also tutor kids in math next year, and try out for NHS and Spanish NHS. It's just that I have never been good enough to play sports because I'm not athletic. If it helps I've also been selected by a teacher to go to an international technological leadership forum (not a scam).

NYLF is not a scam, but it is worthless... like NSLF and all the others, its purpose is experience, not prestige.

I was selected (along with anyone else who wanted to be selected) from my school. I don't think NYU or UCSC would be especially impressed.

I also agree that your ECs don't take enough time... if you're tutoring kids in math, it would have to be at least 5 hrs/week to look impressive. Could you become a newspaper editor? That would help a bit.

Join sport, it doesn't matter how good you are. I was a benchwarmer my first year of water polo on Varsity (cuz I have never played before), but now I am very athletic swimmer, even though my times aren't great over last 2 years I've been spending 10-12 hours on sports each week and this is impressive. College don't cxare how fast/strong you are. The like it as long as you do it.
