I am a community college student and transfer to drexel for MechE next fall. I managed to pull off a 3.3 in community college with a 3 careless C's that i shouldnt have gotten if i just gave 5% more but it dropped my gpa a bit but whats done is done.
I am excited to move on to the next stage but yet scared at the same time because i dont know what holds next. I guess my question to you is that how will i fare on the next level if i manged to get a 3.3 in community college? any personal experiences or just words of advice would be appreciated. By all means criticize and be harsh as you please

MechE is really tough and will demand a lot from anyone. Lots of math, chemistry, and physics, of course. What courses did you take in cc?

Plan to have a lot of self discipline when you get there, it is a tough academic major. Take advantage of professor’s office hours, study groups, any free tutoring available, etc. Don’t try to gut it out on your own. And be disciplined about your study habits – don’t know if you will be in a dorm with a meal plan as a transfer, but one of the tricks my kids used was taking their materials to dinner with them so they could go straight to the library after dinner and not get sucked into socializing in their dorm instead. Read the syllabus and assignment instructions carefully so you know what is due when and how the different assignments are weighted. And watch for the drop dates – if you are truly in trouble and are at risk of failing something, consider dropping a class to lighten your load and keep your GPA intact.
