Please, list college to which you've applied...

Hi guys,

As you know, some colleges such as grinnelll, macalester, etc. require from applicants to list colleges and universities to which they are applying. However, this information is not made with required sign. What one should do? Is it good to write all colleges to which you are applying? I mean, for example if student applies to harvard, yale,, etc. will not these schools have a bad attitude towards this applicant? However, the sat score of this student is below 2200, and colleges may also think that ivys won't pick her up.

All I know is that you definitely don’t want to make them seem like they are the safety school, so I wouldn’t put a lot that are above the school in the rankings/prestige.

thank you haaayanna for your answer. But will these colleges identify if I don’t write the name of universities to which I have applied?

any other ideas? please, answer as soon as possible. today is the last day for applying

I know this isn’t forthright, but I would craft in a way where it seems like the school you are applying to is a match/high-match/low-reach. Hence, more likely to attend if you were accepted.

For instance say you’re applying to 8 schools. I would include 3 safeties, 2 match, 2 high match, and 1 reach with one of the matches/high matches being the school you are applying to.

thank you avidstudent for your response.

So, if I am applying to for example 12 schools, I should only include some of them, and there will still be no problem? Yeah, it is not fortright, but if student analyzes that she has no chances to be admitted to very competetive schools, it almost means that these"safieties"(not actually safities, if admitted with good scholarship, gonna go) will reject her? So, will college ever know if student applied to school, she has not included? What should she do? Final response plaese… Thank you in advance

As I stated before you should craft in a way where it seems like if admitted you will likely attend. I doubt colleges have the resources or know which other schools you apply to.

Last year one of my classmates had the same conundrum, but the solution to his problem was he applied to the school who asked for other schools at the beginning of the year, so if ever “caught” he could claim he added those schools later. In your situation you cannot do this, but I highly doubt have the ability or will check It’s your call if you want to do it.

Thank you avidstudent… any other ideas? In fact, avidstudent you were really helpful.

I went into US News college guide and took the colleges ‘with the most overlap in applicants pool’ or smth among those lines.

:(… so, every college will think about me as just kid, who does not analyze what she wanna do?

I really think you should be honest and list the schools you really are applying to…I don’t think they read that much into it, I think its just for data collection.

I want to do so thunder1. However, I am afraid if colleges look at the badly. I mean, do not belive me that I really want to get into any of them.
