My name is Derek Ukaegbu I was born June 29th, 1995 in laurel regional hospital. I would expect to see my mother first after being just born to the world. But It was a man with scrubs, a medical mask, and a scalp. It wasn’t very welcoming to me. But that’s was when I was new to the world exploring it. I was the first born child of my Mother Agatha and Father Lawrence Ukaegbu he used to work tiressly at the bank so I didn’t see him as often but I knew he was working hard in his field supporting my mother and I. When I was younger, I always loved how to building block together or Legos. I tried to put them into one functional unit and see how they’re built up from step to step. It started as something I would do when I was bored and had nothing else to do. But my interest grew and I wanted more and more Legos. But the things I put together never made sense to on how all the elements are put together to make one single durable object. But I was young trying to learn too much
As I matured, I would help my uncle around in the store helping him with the customers while he was looking at their prescriptions. When he working he would tell me the chemical make-up and what element to use to manufacture these medicine. At first I was very puzzled I thought how does the know what to mix together? What to use to make them work in unison? He knew what elements to hold and see the effects of it. I knew in my mind that I wanted go further than we he has accomplished already. So we can learn new things and exchange information we both didn’t know about. However, becoming goes more in-depth then just making medicine and building it up. It’s about doing something that will change the world: something that makes the world better and be beneficial for mankind itself. To be a true pharmacist your qualities you need communication, leadership skills, and resilience. But the most important trait to me is patience. If I’m able to change the world for better all that patience through the time will be worth it. I hope that I can do something dramatic to help mankind. Although this seems like light years, decades from now, it’s my hope and it’s a proven fact when you’re dedicated and work hard you will always succeed in whatever you do no matter the circumstance. I Know I’ll be somebody who will be recognized by many. I have to work 2 times as hard to excel past them .

At Penn State I want to study industrial pharmacy by majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology so I can explore my interest in pharmacy and hopefully complete my goal in a career in industrial pharmacy. I believe Penn state is right for me because
