Hi. I graduated college in 2006 and I am considering going to business school. My major was rec./park mgmt focusing on golf mgmt, so I am a golf pro. I've decided that's not what I want to do. I'd rather work for a sports mktg. firm, or major sports organization and believe that more education is appropriate to make that transition. I took the GMATs recently and scored 680. Does anyone think that trying to go back to school now is the wrong decision? I know most schools want people with many yrs. of experience, but given my circumstances, will they look past that? Also considering my background, will schools look favorably at how unique it is, or look down on it because it's not considered a tough (finance, econ, engineering) degree. Thanks for any advice.

I think you have a decent shot of going back to business school now. Did you take the normal prerequisites (calculus, economics) in undergrad? Adcoms are looking for all types of majors and why this is the right time for you to go back to grad school.

Thanks. I did take most of the normal prerequisites. I have a business minor with my degree, so I've taken econ, acctg, statistics. I've only not taken calculus because I never needed to.

You have quite an interesting background. In my class we also have some unique students, such as a piano player, a geologist, several doctors, etc. MBA programs really appreciate diversity. However, your number of years of work ex is really quite low. You should consider working 1-2 more years, maybe in a new career, unless you really were able to demonstrate leadership and progression in the 2 years you have worked. All the best.
