Please rank the best Electrical and Computer Engineering Programs

I am planning to pursue my Masters in Electrical and computer engineering. I am an Electronics and Instrumentation Undergrad.

I am concerned with how good the program and the school’s reputation is as it is a huge investment. Also internship and job Opportunities are also a concern.

how would you rank the electrical and computer Engineering Graduate programs of the following colleges:
1)Purdue
2)Ohio State
3)North Carolina state
4)NorthEastern
5)Minnesota twin cities
6)Maryland-college park
7)UC san diego
8)UW-Seattle
9)Michigan state
10)Santa Clara

Cost is not that big of an issue as I am out-of-state for all of them. Student from India.

Thank you in advance.

For grad school, often the “best” school is the one that has research most aligned with your interests.

These are all well-regarded schools with solid reputations. An MS in ECE from any of these schools is going to be a valuable and marketable credential. You shouldn’t pick based on “how good the program is,” because they are all good.

Agreed. Or look for a school that is in a specific market where you want to work.

Of the schools on your list, Northeastern and Santa Clara are probably the least well-known names, on a national basis. That’s primarily because (1) neither school is noted for doctoral-level research, and (2) neither school has top-tier college football, which is a huge factor for university name recognition. UCSD also comes up short on the football criterion.

Point 1 might be significant if you were pursuing a PhD, but I wouldn’t worry about it for an MS. If you wanted to work in Silicon Valley or the Bay Area generally, for example, SCU would be a great choice, even though its name might not be as well known as most the others in places like Florida or Texas.

I am currently focused on my masters and have no plans as such for a Phd.
My primary concern is finding Internships and getting a job after I complete the program. That is why I figured Northeastern would be a good choice because of their Co-op program.

Quality of life, the social environment and class size is also a factor, I don’t prefer a huge class where I have no connection with the professors.

And also could someone rank the colleges or mention the GRE scores that these colleges expect?
I got a GRE score of 308 and most probably I will be giving it a go again because I want a really good university.

First, rankings these programs is going to be pretty hard. None of them are top schools but the ones that I am familiar with are all good - detail beyond that is unlikely to be sitting in any of our collective laps right now. There are hundreds of programs and no one person on here is likely to have real experience with more than a couple on this list. So let’s just say that they all seem decent.

Second, GRE is rarely a deciding issue for admissions. Indeed, it is usually the LOWEST factor used, with the exception of fellowship applications which use it to compare students in radically different fields.

Pick the department that is doing what you want to do, talk to them about their expectations and placements, and apply to several schools regardless - grad admissions is always tough.

No, there may not be anyone that can do that. To my knowledge, there is no authoritative ranking of MS ECE programs, nor is there any compendium of GRE scores.

If you research each department individually, you might find some limited info about GREs in some cases. For example, the Purdue ECE says:

Thank you all
