Maybe Villanova, Bucknell, Lehigh, then Holy Cross (easiest first).

Thank You!

Easiest to hardest

Bucknell

nova, lehigh,bucknell,holy cross

It also depends on the program you’re trying to get into

They all have pretty similar profiles. I think Lehigh and Villanova are a touch easier to get into than Bucknell and Holy Cross, but it is entirely possible that you can get into any one of these schools and not get into any one of the others. Villanova has non binding EA which is always a great way to apply.

They are approximately the same in selectivity
(so close that the following order could be rather different with the next pool of applicants)

Bucknell
admit rate = 27%
SAT/ACT 25th-75th percentile = 1200-1390
Freshmen in top 10 percent of high school class = 66%

Lehigh
admit rate = 32.6%
SAT/ACT 25th-75th percentile = 1200-1400
Freshmen in top 10 percent of high school class = 64%

Holy Cross
admit rate = 33.5%
SAT/ACT 25th-75th percentile = 1220-1380
Freshmen in top 10 percent of high school class = 60%

Villanova
admit rate = 45.6%
SAT/ACT 25th-75th percentile = 1200-1390
Freshmen in top 10 percent of high school class = 58%

i would be applying to the college of liberal arts and sciences. all these schools are reaches for me and i love them all. planning on ED to the one that gives me the best chance to get in. Even though Villanova is EA only. just curious

bump. sorry i am super anxious :P

HADES son applied to all 4, so we are very familiar.

Easiest to hardest:

Villanova
Bucknell
Holy Cross
Lehigh

Easiest to hardest:

Im a bit confused. Didn’t tk21, #8 post, provide admit rate data for these schools?

^ Yes, tk21769 did provide admit rate data for these schools in post #8. Those numbers are from current USNWR data, which in turn is derived from information in the Common Data Sets. The 4 score ranges are nearly identical. The 4 class rank numbers (percentage of freshmen in top 10%) are nearly identical. 3 of the 4 admit rates are very close.

Here are the ED admit rates from the same source:

Bucknell - 61%
Lehigh - 63%
Holy Cross - 68%
Villanova - N/A
(Again, 3 of the 4 numbers are very close.)

So it seems to me that admissions selectivity is not a good basis for differentiating these schools.

You may want to consider whether financial aid plays a role. If the school is need aware, you may have less of a chance. I know, for example, that Bucknell is need-aware, but not sure if the others are or not.

Holy Cross is the highest ranked in latest US News at 25. HC offers good financial aid and is one of few schools that is need-blind meets 100% of demonstrated financial aid. Also in new Payscale salary report HC was in the top 12 of all LAC’s.

Of these 4 schools, payscale ranks only Bucknell and HC as LACs.
Sort the “full list of schools” to see how the 4 stack up.
Again, I think they are all close enough that payscale data is not a good basis for differentiating them (especially when you consider all the problems attributed to payscale.)

HC does appear to be the only one of the 4 that is need-blind and committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated need. Run the net price calculators to see if this seems to work to your advantage, given your own family’s circumstances.

no financial need will be required

i have a 3.44 gpa and a 27 act. planning on taking it one more time before i apply
