Please suggest a financially safe school

Greetings all.

I read the thread for ASSURED MERIT SCHOLARSHIP, but I don't know much about any of the schools listed there. So, I am requesting your help to decide which school my son should apply to as a financially safe school (full or near full scholarship). We are in NJ, but he can go OOS. He is interested in majoring Computer Science/Aerospace.

Below is his stats:

Combined SAT score :2310 (740 R, 770 M, 800 W), single SAT score: 2300
Subjects:
800 Chemistry
800 Math 2
780 Biology M
Did not take ACT
NMSF
GPA: 3.75
Weighted GPA: 4.43
Honors classes: 9 (don't remember if that is including Senior year)
AP: 4 + 3 in Senior year

Thanks

How about the NMS schools? To clarify, when you say full scholarship, do you mean full tuition OR full ride (tuition, R&B)?

Alabama is an obvious one.

Although Rutgers Presidential is a competitive scholarship for IS with those stats, I have never heard of an IS not receiving the award. NM is added on top of the Presidential.

Thanks everyone. I will research on Alabama.

entomom, I meant full ride.

Longhaul, what is IS?

Look at both U Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. The latter has a bigger NMF award, and IIRC their aerospace program is very good.

IS = In State

The College of NJ would also be a financial safety for Computer Science but don’t have the Aerospace option. TCNJ no longer posts their scholarship info on their website.

He does qualify for the Rutgers Presidential award but it is competitive, not assured the way it used to be. Here is a link to the details
