I loved The Things They Carried, especially the story in which the guy keeps going around the same road again and again. Btw if anyone needs to see my old hw I'm willing to give it away since I believe that homework done by one isn't useful if someone else doesn't use it. Just post and let me know.

What does your hw consist of? Oh by the way has anyone read One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest? I have to read that for summer reading too but just haven't been able to pick it up...I think I need a little motivation to read it, so is it good?

I read Life of Pi last year. I thought it was a pretty good book, and not that hard to follow.

Yea, i loved one flew over the cuckoo's nest..ken kasey is a terrific writer and the characters are extremely engaging... it really gives a great outlook on the developments in the human relations fields also

yes i've read cuckoo's nest. i think my hw was to find 10 things abt the char or something. do you want the word doc its like 3-4 pages.

Do NOT put off the things they carried. It is seriously one of my favorite books...I'll be honest though, if you're getting tested on it, that will suck. The whole time I was reading, I was like, good thing I can just enjoy this! But the book is great, read it in 1 sitting

I agree I've actually become a fan of the genre due to reading that book.

Believe me, you aren't alone. I've only finished about 2 of the 5 books I've been assigned for summer reading (and I've been doing the bare minimum--marking up the book).

You can't be the only one; procrastination is part of human nature.

2 weeks to go and I haven't started mine yet :)

mine are supposed to be e-mailed to the teachers every week, I have an APUSH essay due today, I should start it....nahhh

I've read 3 of 4 books for AP eng lang. plus one book of required reading that everyone has to do. I also have to write 2 essays, and do around 5 textbook assignments as well. =\ annnnnd I have to sell ads for journalism. why does school take over your summer vacation when you get older? back in the good ol' days when I was little and didn't have to worry about anything school related during the summer. ahhh. :) luckily school doesn't start until the end of August for me.

I have a book and a set of algera problems

I have 15 days left. I'm only half way through one book. Didn't start the other, and don't think I will. No essays though... well yet, one or both books may be used in class (supposedly).

Supposed to read and annotate two books. Read one of them, and starting on the other....the annotation is waiting until the week before school starts.

you are not.. you are like me!

you are not the only one.
