I am just wondering about the colleges/universities I should apply for based on my current stats and what I want to pursue later in life. Please help me. I am desperately needing advise b/c I am an International and don't really have a clue as to which schools are best at what i am considering majoring.

I do not really have preference. I just want to go to a good school that has a good reputation for the majors I want to go into.

Location:
- Preferably near the ocean? (as in west or east coast)
- Not in the south where it's really hot in the summer (California is okay though...)

tried to give you a range here. this is mostly based on psychology because pharmacology and education isnt a wide spread major. i do know that penn, vanderbilt, GW, colgate and maryland have education and GW has pharmacology

Pharmacology is mostly a graduate/medical field. For undergrad, you will be studying chemistry. Psychology is a popular major- most top schools will have decent psych programs. Education might be a bit harder to find- that might be the limiting factor. There are many, many colleges that would fit you, but Brown immediately comes to mind, as do Boston U and Oberlin. If you're willing to reconsider the South, Duke fits all of your interests perfectly.

I don't think a school in the south would be a very good idea b/c I live in Canada and I am scared that I won't be able to adjust to the weather change.

Boston U sounds good. I've never heard of Oberlin :p
I think Brown would be a reach?

Are there anymore good reaches for me? Thanks in advance.

Brown is a reach for anybody- it is an extremely popular school. Since you have a few interests, maybe you should look at large schools. Check out Northeastern University in Boston- has a good pharmacy school. Also, George Washington University in Washington, DC. Maybe Loyola in Chicago, too.

The truth is for these majors just got to the best undergrad school you can, don't focus too much on the major. I would check out the top schools/ Ivies for sure.

Don't retake the SAT...what a waste of money. Your score out of 2400 is a 2180, and your score out of 1600 is a 1480. Those are fine scores for anywhere other than HYP.

Boston U and GW are your safeties, right? Should be fine. Can you afford these schools- all of them are expensive. Do you have any safeties in Canada?

All I am worried about is the scholarship or grant money. I don't know if I will get any considering that my family is quite well-off. I really need the scholarship b/c even though my family is well-off, my parents are not willing to pay SO much for undergrad. But I REALLY REALLY want to go to the U.S. for undergrad (as well as grad) so I MUST get some scholarship.

I definitely have safeties here in Canada (my parents are willing to pay for any school in Canada).

So, do you think if I get into these schools, I will be offered scholarship or any sort of support?

ihateCA: Lol, thanks for reassuring me. I would think UCLA and UCB will be my matched too but people tell me that they are very competitive for out-of-staters, especially internationals. So I don't know.

Harvard, MIT and Caltech are not for me. They are simply too competitve and I really dislike the general atomasphere there. My friend, who goes to MIT says she hates it there because it's work, work and work all the way.

Johns Hopkins sound okay. I will add that to my potential list.
