AirForcePilot: The +/- system will be a moot point for you. If you plan on getting all 95+, you will get the same 4.0 whether you make a 93 or 100…I could never understand why more credit was not given for an A+…

AirForcePilot: Best wishes on getting accepted at UT. Clearly it is your preference.

As others have said, getting an A+ is easier said than done. I can count on my hands how many classes I’ve received an A+ in, and I can guarantee you I haven’t been “taking it easy” through my 100+ credits at A&M. I know several individuals at UT that complain about the new system, so yes while it may benefit in some circumstances, it doesn’t in others.

AirForcePilot: in the end… on an application, you put your gpa. They dont have a column to check if your college graded on a +/- grade scale… if you plan on going to graduate school a +/- scale can hurt you.
You sound so high school with your +/- attitude, you dont have a clue. I don’t know a single student who will slack off because of the grade scale at A&M. Never heard… “don’t have to work that hard, I have a 91, so I’m just not going to study for this exam”. They all work their tails off for the grade.
Let us know how that does work out for you
