What PofC Humanities/Fine Arts or Social Sciences courses do you guys recommend?

It depends on what you're interested in. For minimal work, a Music PoC would be a good idea. The lower-divs are easy. Urban Studies and Planning or PoliSci would be good ones too but I'm a little biased since those are my majors.

any recommendations for easy visual arts courses (music, particularly)?

BTW, mus 15 is filled up right now...does anyone know if that course generally has a good portion of spaces allocated for freshmen, who register later than continuing students?

Beatles--no

I see that the Heavy Metal MUS15 is still very open

Those MUS 15 Beatles sections will likely open more seats (around 40, if you look at how many seats were open for the class last fall) so you might have a shot of getting in.

If not, MUS 4 with McAllister is good, as is Zelickman's MUS 11 Folk Music. That's a pretty easy A.

lol @ the beatles course. my roommate took that, and had been playing that music all day in our room. that class basically requires you to listen to a bunch of beatles music and memorize the titles of the songs. i don't like the beatles, but they're still stuck in my head :P

im taking foreign language (russian) for humanities and political science or perspectives of social science

I'm thinking about a PofC in Urban Studies. Any recs on what courses I should take for it?

For Urban Studies, take USP 124 Land Use Planning. Professor Bussell is fantastic and the material is really interesting. She teaches two other courses as well (173 and 173) so those would be good options as well. If you want to focus on environmental issues as they pertain to urban studies, USP 2, 170, and 171 are good choices.
