How hard is it to find a local poker game on the campus?

Not too hard at all. My friends and I had weekly poker games in the dorm junior and senior years.

That's good to hear, I'm always up for a bit of poker and I have been hoping to continue it in college. I heard there was some sort of collegiate series of tournys starting next year which would be fun, but any sort of light-hearted game is fine with me.

Pocket 9's are gold...I hate pocket K's...

Besides dorm games, NYU sponsor poker events, so do the frats (like Alpha Kappa Psi). Normally they give you a "prize" with the reciept so you can go get cash for it.
And of course, there's always poker clubs if you've got a taste for mo' money. Unfortunately, the club I frequented during the school year (Players' Club) was shut down by the cops last week, so I'll have to look elsewhere for next year.

why was it shut down?

Do not call AKPsi a frat. It is a business fraternity and barely squeaks by with the word ‘fraternity.’ It is a coeducational professional development organization that has a national headquarters and dozens of chapters. That is as far as it goes.

It is not part of Greeklife. I am in Stern, I have several friends in it, know tons of other kids in it, and AKPsi is in no way a fraternity.
