I don’t believe she was being stalked. I believe she was called from her office to go to the lab, and her killer was waiting there. Other thread implies that it could have been a woman. If the clothings found belong to the killer, did he/she brought a change? That would look like premeditation. In any case, it is a very sad story.

I definitely believe the killer KNEW the victim. This stuff is usually premeditated.

Since I’m not a news outlet, I have the right to speculate. Personally, I think it was a professor (the one who, according to what I read, canceled class at the time she disappeared).

We shall see.

Best of wishes to her family and friends. This is truly tragic.

Let’s not speculate, or fill in blanks with supposition, okay?

Let’s just keep our thoughts and prayers on this young lady and the rest of the Yale family. It’s not a nice way to start a new school year, to be sure.

The killer had to have access to the building and since Yale Medical School isn’t very large, most people in the vicinity of one building know the other people in the building. They found a body, now known to be her body. She is dead. God bless her!

[ME: Body found is Annie Le](http://www.newsday.com/long-island/suffolk/cops-id-body-as-annie-le-1.1445629)

Newsday says that the body has been identified as Annie Le. It also reports that ABC and NBC are both saying that a suspect has been identified. I watched the video from a local station and it definitely says that.

It certainly SOUNDS as if it’s not random because the cops are telling everyone that nobody else on campus is at risk.

As per New Haven Register News:
Most Yale buildings are easy to walk right past Security.
Just put on a blue shirt and act like you belong there and someone will open a door for you.

[Authorities confirm body is that of Yale student (with story archive)- The New Haven Register - Serving Greater New Haven, CT](http://www.nhregister.com/articles/2009/09/14/news/doc4aae5d57ae145175622155.txt)

My heart and prayer goes out to her family and may God be with them.

Seriously, horrible and poor detective work! It took 6-days to figure out she was still in the building! Where is the “blueprint” of the building? 75-cameras is Security NOT watching and monitoring anyone or anything?

Wow! You’re right, why in the world did it take this long for a complete search of the building? And what’s the point of so many cameras only on the outside of the building? Why wasn’t there any cameras inside?

^ She was behind a wall.

There should still be more inside so they could have seen her moving through the building. It would have helped the search effort as well.

This is really sad news. My condolences go out to her family and friends.

[Police sources: Lab worker possible suspect in Yale student’s death (with story archive)- The New Haven Register - Serving Greater New Haven, CT](http://www.nhregister.com/articles/2009/09/14/news/doc4aae5d57ae145175622155.txt)

New Haven Register is now reporting that the suspect is a technician who worked in the lab. That makes perfect sense since the cops and university have both denied that any students were under suspicion.

“Super scary considering it has happened in a Ivy League school!”

Why? There are at least the average number (if not higher) of high strung crazies at Ivy League Universities.

This may be a difficult forensics case if the person actually planned this for a period of time. Labs have lots of disposable garb and that means the villain may have been able to dispose of the physical, scene-related links to her death. I assume that’s a big reason why the FBI was checking the trash.

This case will be solved, i.e. there will be an arrest, in days if not hours. Despite the speculation, it’s not a difficult investigation. The police probably know who did it and they’re simply gathering evidence while they babysit the perpetrator. Remember the case of the housekeeping employee killed in NYC earlier this year? The NYCPD babysat that perpetrator for days prior to his arrest. Why is the investigation easy? The authorities know who was in and out of the building and can account for all people by reviewing videotapes. The fire alarm gave them a fantastic opportunity to take attendance mid-day. Add to that that the prime suspect has defensive wounds on his body which means there is likely DNA under the victim’s fingernails (though we won’t know that for weeks). Additionally, there are reports that the suspect was interviewed by police which means either he confessed (not likely) or that he lied (which he did if he is guilty). He will get caught in the lies because the building security systems will prove him to be lying at some point.

This investigation is not about difficulty; it’s about time. Once the police pinpoint a time of the event, they still have to review dozens of videotapes. It’s not hard work but it takes hours and hours to do that.

This is very tragic for the new couple…Hopefully the suspect will be caught soon. I was kinda wondering why did the suspect do this to her, too. If it were for jealousy then the suspect should have already known her well.

ive heard yale covered this up before, a similar event or something. i have a feeling yale wont have a lot of applications next year

^^ wanna bet?

“ive heard yale covered this up before, a similar event or something. i have a feeling yale wont have a lot of applications next year”

Boy oh boy. Now collegebound is certainly a bulwark against unsubstantiated rumors now isn’t he? You’ve got a great career in Entertainment television reporting, I’d say.

Puh-leez

And Bird rock: if you find anyone taking that bet, let me in on it. I want some of that action too.

why shouldn’t Yale have a a lot of applicants? People die everywhere. It’s not like there has been a slew of murders of Yale students. It’s horrible that this happened but to me, at least, this seems like a poor reason to decide not to apply to Yale.

Actually, I think it has been handled very well. The police obviously took Annie Le’s roommate very seriously and immediately launched a thorough investigation. As a parent, I respect that so much.

^^are you telling me everything on tv i hear isnt true?!?!!? my life is a lie !! lol.

honestly, overprotective parents=no application to yale.
