Politic Geeks

Hey:

im about to go to a pretty politically active college and I have no idea what has been going on in the word for the last 20-30 years. Where should I go to get unbiased views of what has been going on abroad, views of different political parties and etc. and just a good start into politics?

maybe you should watch tv news more often, and go to the history channel...

Take a U.S. government class in college...also a World Politics and Economy class

thats sad to here someone has no idea whats been going on in the world for the last 20 - 30 years. were you in a coma?

who's president of the US?

haha, good one Noel!
my tip-start reading the Economist.

Im sorry. I thot you guys understood exaggerations. ill be more exact.

Its just I dont really have an opinion on things because I dont know any platforms of any party (and I wdont want to look at a biasd website or tv channel) and I dont know about the conflicts going on in the middle east.

Im science nerd and dont know all that jargon for politics. i just wonering if there was a good place for me to learn the basics at why people hate america and why bush sucks and etc (I know not everyone hates america or bush. stay with me here)

Then I can watch hardball or this week or stay in a conversation about the state of the nation without totally zoning out.

Any more suggestions?

BTW, there is no such think as a politics geek . . .
they are instead called wonks

read the Economist for sure

for the left,
and NYTimes Editorials (left leaning), Slate magazine (left leaning)

Read the news from several different sources. All media sources will have some sort of bias; by getting information from different sources (even ones outside your country such as CBC, CTV, and BBC), you'll have a better chance of understanding the big picture and making a more informed opinion.

If you want to look at different candidates and see who you agree with in order to form some political view I highly recommend
http://www.vote-smart.org/[url/]
It's a great site to learn about where candidates stand on issues, and it's unbiased and aimed at teenagers.

I thought the OP was asking for an UNBIASED source.

ummm...my U.S. Gov/Politics course was pretty objective....

balance out the NYTimes with

and

watch Fox News for the shows where they grill people. They're amusing.
