I’m a high school senior currently applying, and I was wondering how politically active are the students on campus? I’m looking into studying political science and care a lot about a politically engaged campus, so I was curious as to what kind of presence politics have at Pitt.
Google “Pitt Trump Protests” and you may get an idea of the political climate on the campus.
I second @shortnuke’s suggestion. My sister is a student at Duquesne, and actually attended a Trump protest in Oakland last night.
You could also always ask the political science department to put you in contact with a current student. I did that with the English department, and was put in contact with a wonderful current senior at Pitt who was able to answer a lot of my questions, both about departmental stuff and student life in general.
Well— there was a nice protest last night on campus and complete with police presence so I’d say you’ll find plenty to do!

This was filmed last night in the lobby of the Litchfleld Towers.
^^ It’s too bad the protest group tried to move into the lobby of the dorm where they were told not to go. It was such a peaceful demonstration until that point.
