How are internships in politics and law at Swarthmore? What are some example internships, and is the Career Services generally helpful?

Career Services is generally helpful in putting people in contact with successful alums, but applying to places without any connections is difficult in the first 1-2 years. However, many of my friends (I’m a freshman, I’m talking about freshman) have managed to get internships with law firms, prosecutors, and even a politician’s office. You just have to work to get the interview, and then you’re in the same boat kids as the schools that are heavily recruited - they just had to work a little less to get their name out there.

My freshman year my externship was in a senator’s office.
