Ah come on Mosby that is sick humor.

I am pro-life. It is legal to have an abortion until the third trimester. As it stands, I know quite a few people who ere born in the second trimester, survived, and are happy and healthy. Second-term fetuses don’t have rights. I’m sorry, but I have major moral problems with that.

thank you.

@Mallard: Sorry, it just popped into my head…

A good starter goal for us would be to buy ourselves back from China. Then after that we should build a defense system that can reliably and efficiently stop ICBMs. Once we accomplish those two goals, it will be MUCH easier to do the rest.

^THANK YOU! I completely agree! Get ourselves out of the deep hole of debt that we’re in before we go off spending trillions of dollars!

I am Pro-Life also, but I find Late Term Abortions completely appalling. Unless there is a case of rape, incest, or health of the mother I really don’t think late term abortions should be legal. Five months seems like more than enough to decide whether or not a woman wants to get an abortion, and after 5 months the fetus may even start to feel pain.

Half of you already know my position on this, but as for pro-life vs. pro-choice, here it goes:

I am pro-choice but I am completely against late-term abortions unless it is the case of rape, incest, or life of the mother. Before that (usually up to ~16 weeks) it is a fetus and therefore not really a living human yet. At that point, it is up to the mother in my opinion. It is not alive until it can breath and survive on its own.

When a fetus is aborted, it is 95% because of one of these factors: result of rape, the health of the mother is in jeopardy or the mother is not financially or mentally able to take care of her pregnancy and/or a child.

People who WANT children do NOT get abortions. Let me repeat: if that child were WANTED and the mother was physically able to have it, that child would NOT be aborted.

People say “Give him/her up for adoption.” Adoption in this country is HORRENDOUS. Yes, many infants get adopted but not all. Plus, the mother has 30 days to take back the child. Could you imagine that emotional turmoil for the adoptive family? And those that don’t get adopted (usually because there is something wrong with them such as fetal alcohol syndrome) face a life of constant foster homes and group homes until they are kicked out on their butts at 18. A majority of those kids never go on to be productive adults.

The majority of aborted fetuses would have been born into poverty. Those who are screaming “Don’t kill it!” have no idea what kind of life this child is going to have. Odds are they are going to be trapped in a cycle of poverty and/or abuse for their childhood. Oh, and those same pro-life people are also the ones cutting welfare and food stamps that are probably going to keep this child alive.

In closing, let me say this:
If you are REALLY concerned about being pro-life, why don’t you pipe down about this issue and turn that energy into helping out children that are ALREADY living in poverty. Why don’t you turn that energy into reforming adoption laws so that these children can be adopted into good homes?

Don’t scream “pro-life” and then turn your back on them when they take their first breath. Because that is really the conservative way.

ETA:
This is really all I have to say on this issue, so I’m probably going to be done here.

Republican here.

Thanks for saying that.

Now, point out something that doesn’t make sense.

And refute it, please.

ETA:

Really? Did you really decide to delete your post?

sigh

Completely true. No matter what stage the abortion is in, it’s still killing what would have, at some stage, become life.

With that being said, I consider myself pro-choice.

^Then I challenge you, when do you consider it as a “life”?

Do you oppose the morning after pill?

Do you oppose any birth control? Because really, it would have at some point, could have been life.

Neither. I AM OF THE INDEPENDENT PARTY WOOOOT

^^Read my edited post.

^Ah.
Ok.

It wasn’t really supposed to be an attack, it really was a question. I am always curious as to when pro-life people draw the line :).

^^^^So let’s just all start making babies because the longer we wait to have sex the more babies are not going to be born.

^
Ask many kids in foster care.
Many of them wish they had never been born.
They are the victims of poverty and abuse. Most will end up in prison. Many will commit suicide.

I did not say that they were not worthy to live. Reread my post.
I said IF you are going to force them to be born, then you better damn well be doing something to make sure their lives improve. I don’t see most pro-life people doing that.

Huh? That makes absolutely no sense.

"Do you oppose the morning after pill?

Do you oppose any birth control? Because really, it would have at some point, could have been life. "

I was trying to point out that what you said made no sense.

^You missed my point.

He originally said that he was pro-life.
So I asked when he drew the line.

I was genuinely interested because I know a lot of pro-life people who oppose birth control because they are stopping potential lives.

Does it matter if you are pro-life or pro-choice?

Alright so let’s say there are laws made banning abortion (pro-life). Do you think that EVERY person is actually going to care and follow that law? No. There will always be people breaking the law. Likewise, if there were laws demanding pro-choice and freedom of abortion, there still would be people who choose not to follow them and just go along with giving birth to their children because they are against such a belief. YES - a belief, which is an opinion. It’s no use analyzing scientific data because in the end, it’s all what we believe in; our faith, our opinion. You can’t change people’s opinions and everyone’s opinions will never be the same. They will always differ. It’s impossible to dispute over an opinion and just as useless trying to enforce one side of the subject.
