However, most people either don't give a s**t about other animal species or are too addicted to munching on carcasses to make an effort to go meatless.

I eat meat
I do care about other animal species
I am not addicted to munching on 'carcasses'

I eat meat because I have my reasons (i dont feel like discussing them here).
Im not against anyone that's vegan or 'different' but I am against people that carry your attitude. I dont know you but I think your tone of writing reflects your attitude and it's insulting to people 'different' to you.

NoFX:
I don't think hepstars goal in his post was to try to convince anyone to stop eating meat. there are a LOT of other points he could have made, and I would make, if I thought that was the point.
The thing is that whenever I post in a thread with Shasta, or he sees one of my posts, he decides to randomly tell me I ought to eat some meat. He has done it way too many times.
There are no vegetarian conversion threads happening here, but if other people want to keep bringing it up, well at some point it kind of gets annoying.
And your post gets me a little upset becuase it's fine for Shasta to keep making comments about eating meat and one comment mentioning eating carcasses gets you upset. well, if people keep telling me what to eat I don't think there's anything wrong with saying what it is you are eating.

This post is probably going to make a lot of people angry and you'll all think I'm personally attacking you, I'm really not though.
...except for possibly shasta if he keeps on like he is.

vegan, i was only 'attacking' hepstar because she contradicted herself. She was implying that eating meat is dirty but in the same post, she said people shouldnt insult someone because they're different - which is basically what she did. Sorry and hope i didnt offend you.. and I hope im making sense :)

yeah, and I sort of knew my post would come across as a little harsh. but this forum seems to have enough trolls coming up with stupid things like that, that shasta was getting to me.
the whole post wasn't really intended at you.

I apologize if I came across as a jerk in my last post. I can become quite volatile when the issue of meat is brought up. I frequently take criticism from some of my classmates when I mention that I am a vegetarian. It seems as if they don't consider me a human being anymore. I was even bribed once to eat chicken, but I refused. It is this detrimential treatment that makes me really get angry when people criticize vegetarians or vegans. I threw out some of those comments, such as the one about carcasses, to give you meat eaters a taste of your own medicine. It was probably too harsh, but I just let it slip out.

Not all of them are. I go to a very conservative, all-boys Catholic school (I'm a dude people!!! Not a female as many of you assume). Therefore, vegetarians are extremely scarce (I haven't met another one there yet). I choose not to disclose my vegetarian status to anyone but my friends, because they accept me no matter what. They are good people and more accepting of others. Some of my friends are even impressed that I have been able to be meat free for so long.

I am very different than the typical strudent at my school. I am a Protestant vegetarian who isn't very religious. I just try to be a good person. The majority of the students at my school are Catholic, religious, and certainly not vegetarian. However, I still have my friends there and overall, I do fine.

yeah, snoopy's right. I also don't use leather.
And like Hepstar I've had bad experiences with meat eaters. I've had people wave meat in my face and constantly try to get me to eat it. I've been a vegetarian for ten years why would I stop now?
