Aha Facebook beats Myspace!
I think the majority of educated people tend to be liberal and vote democratic.

i dnt want to spark some argument, but that is a huge generalization on your part.

Trust me not down here, where I live (The South), everyone is freaking Republican.

I know plenty of educated people who are republican and while I could rant on about how much i disagree with their policies I’m not going to. It doesn’t make them uneducated although I… bits tongue Not going to go there, not thetime or the place

I agree that it was a generalization, and I don’t want to spark argument either but I agree that being educated doesn’t determine someone is going to be democrat or republican.

Based on the fact that the democrat states are in the north and on both coasts where the best colleges and most urban populations live, I tend to believe that most educated people are more liberal in their political views than non-educated people, however, there are certainly very many exceptions to the rule on both sides.

Also, here’s an extract from Wikipedia:

While it is difficult to gather demographic information on ideological groups, some studies have been conducted. Liberalism remains most popular among those in academia and liberals commonly tend to be highly educated and relatively affluent. According to recent surveys by the New York Times and CBS News, between 18% and 27% of American adults identify as liberal, versus moderate or conservative.[10] In the 2008 presidential election, exit polls showed that 22% of the electorate self-identified as “liberal.”[11]
According to a 2004 study by the Pew Research Center, liberals were the most educated ideological demographic and were tied with the conservative sub-group, the “Enterprisers”, for the most affluent group. Of those who identified as liberal, 49% were college graduates and 41% had household incomes exceeding $75,000, compared to 27% and 28% as the national average, respectively.[12]

Liberalism also remains the dominant political ideology in academia, with 72% of full-time faculty identifying as liberal in a 2004 study.[13] The social sciences and humanities were most liberal, whereas business and engineering departments were the least liberal, though even in the business departments, liberals outnumbered conservatives 49% to 39%. Generally, the more educated a person is the more likely he or she is to hold liberal beliefs.

In the 2000, 2004 and 2006 elections, the vast majority of liberals voted in favor of the Democrats, though liberals may also show support for the Greens

omg lax4545 im the exact same as u!!!

ha thats funny, i thought i was a dying type, i promise i didnt copy
gotta keep my values though if im ever gonna get through exeter, pretty liberal and atheist up here, hard to keep your beliefs, you just gotta get in with a good group of firends to keep in shape and out of trouble and dont let anybody tell you liberals r more educated than conservatives not true, i mean can u consider obama smart?

head bang I hate when people call presidents dumb, I’d like to see you do a better job, Just because you don’t agree with someones poltics which you’re entitled to do doesn’t make the person dumb. I didn’t like Bush and thought he was a crap president but I don’t think he was stupid just illsuited to presidency… Can we please not make foundless accusations about peoples intelligence based on their political views. Obama isn’t doing a perfect job but I could go on and on about things he’s done right but I won’t because this is CC not a politics forum.

let me ask you. Do you consider Obama smart?
by the way ill admit bush was an idiot

I think Obama is intelligent. I don’t agree with everything he says and I don’t know if I’d vote for him but he isn’t stupid. You don’t make it to where he is politically particularly with his background be being a slouch intellectually.

Presidents are like teachers, even if you don’t like them and think they are doing a bad job, you still have to respect them. They are authority figures and they are there for a reason. Therefore, I do not like to give my opinions on Presidents. Just me though. For everyone with power, positive changes can be made, republican or democrat. I am from a very conservative area though, so that has made it easier to be a republican. I have noticed that most teenagers are liberal. Weird, compared with our parent’s generation. :)

Right or left? Politics: Left. Handed: Right.
Liberal or Conservative? Moderate/Liberal.
Democrat or Republican? Democrat.
Atheist or Believer? Atheist.
Pro-Choice or Pro-life? Pro-Choice.
Bing or Google? Gewgle.
MySpace or Facebook? Facebook.

By the way, “Believer” is definitely being slanted to connote a more positive outlook on your opinions. If you are going to say “Atheist,” say “Theist” instead of “Believer”

i think he is smart regarding literary passages, math problems, science and SAT’s but commen sense? i dont know about that

Ugh people sicken me trying to attack any aspect of Obama’s personality/character they can invent an argument for.
