Polytechnic Campus

Hello, was wondering if anyone knows anything about the ASU Polytechnic campus? My son was accepted for a major at that location, but I am concerned it is a little too “off the beaten path”, although the polytechnic model is appealing. What form does hands on learning take there? What is student life like? Thanks for any information!

Polytechnic campus is a bit of ASU’s hidden gem. Really nice facilities on what was previously an air force base. ASU’s has invested in new labs and facilities (including a new student athletics center) over the past number of years that help provide the hands-on approach to its unique collaborative engineering programs. They also have a flight simulator, and I think robotics is based there as well. The area is still fairly urban, and the vibe of the campus is a little like a separate college at ASU, more intimate than the massive Tempe campus and more personal attention from faculty. Students can also take classes on the main campus, about 20-30 minutes away by car. Barrett Honors upper class students can live in renovated, stand-alone houses that were previously the officers’ housing.

Thank you @concertoinD, this is very helpful! We need to consider a visit from CA.
