My guess would be that 12th is (or maybe was?) their goal for ED2. I would bet that they originally had ED1 for the 11th as well. But we can’t forget that they are in LA county which has been hit very hard by the pandemic and on top of that this is far and away the most unusual year AOs have ever encountered. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t even know the exact release date yet.
They have just replied to my email, saying by February, 15. So nothing new.
ah, got it. guess we just wait!
Those are fabulous stats. I was reading that they have an 8% acceptance rate and they are more selective than some of the Ivys. She is going to be outstanding where ever she goes. We are predicting a rejection for our son, but we had to try.
I have a question about AP scores. Do you submit those only if you want college credit? We didn’t go test optional, but only submitted ACT scores. He has taken a few AP classes though. Our HS doesn’t offer a wide range of AP courses so I’m sure that is considered.
Pomona doesn’t offer a whole lot of credit for APs, I believe it is only 1 or 2 credits. But they do expect a very demanding curriculum so APs are precious for admission.
Thank you. Did you all go ahead and submit AP scores, or just show AP course grades on the transcript? Pomona is our son’s reach school so he applied RD.
We submitted. D has five 5s and one 4 so we didn’t hesitate, I assumed it was expected to submit the score along with the grade.
Although if someone got an A in the class and 3 or 2 on the exam, the decision could be trickier. My expertise is limited here, and you may want to ask some forum old-timers.
Thank you, this helps. I would assume anything in the 2-3 range is not worth submitting even with an A in the AP class. I will search around the forum and see what shakes out.
does anyone know what TIME they usually post the “heads up we’re releasing decisions today!” IG post? I know they release into the portal at 5 PM but I’d like to know if the announcement is in the morning, afternoon, etc. I was thinking maybe they’d release today because it’s a Tuesday and EDI was a Tuesday (they tend to release on the same weekday for both groups). Also because the 5Cs seem to release around the same day and Scripps released yesterday…my next guess would be Friday Feb 12th
May anyone call them to check if it would be today.
They don’t necessarily release the same day. Last year CMC and Pitzer released their ED1 on December 13 while Pomona released on December 6.
Is that truth? Did anyone else other than @Baron1898 got accepted and link didn’t work beforehand ? I am stressing out !!! the first (wrong link) worked for me but the other one didn’t
Forget about those links. They worked years ago but not anymore. As far as @Baron1898 he was the only one IIRC.
I’m probably reading into this wayyy too much, but the pomona admissions instagram story is having a student takeover today and the student said they would talk about “admissions ” so I was wondering if maybe this could mean admissions decisions are coming out today?
I think she was just saying that because she was listing her activities and she works at admissions and she’s doing a takeover for them. I don’t think the people who work at admissions know much about the selection process or when results would come out but i’m not sure
Probably tomorrow since 13th, 14th, and 15th are holidays.
Yes it made me think the same thing!! I took that emoji as a hint
what time do they usually post the “heads up decisions are coming out at 5” on IG?
Not sure, but if you look at the ED 2 thread from last year, people said that they saw the post around 6:30 EST
