Have fun with the admissions essay :)

128769: Thanks! I hope the prompt is reasonable and thought provoking!

All of Claremont Colleges students have access to the same libraries, dining locations, and such. Students can also cross-enroll in other colleges’ courses (there is a limit on how many per semester, and how many for a major, I believe, but I’m not aware of the specifics). If you are only interested in CMC and Pomona, that shouldn’t be a concern for you; there will be more than enough courses and time schedule you can pick from. CMC does have a better political science program in my opinion, but I feel that Pomona has a stronger economics program despite CMC’s Robert Day School focusing in business.

Felicity404: Thanks! I’m going to apply to CMC.

With all due respect to felicity, I would quibble with the “Pomona has a stronger economics program”. Pomona is a fine school and has many great attributes, but most people who are familiar with the economic programs would disagree with this statement. CMC is known around the country for their economics as well as their finance/accounting programs. Rather than get into a long explanation why I and others feel this way, please research some of my earlier posts or take a look at the economic course schedules for the two schools. The breadth and depth of economic courses at CMC are on another level than Pomona.

parent57: Thank you! I do like CMC better than Pomona, but hopefully, if I get in, I’ll get to spend some time at the other Claremont Colleges.
