I am going to apply to college this year, probably a small LAC.
My major EC is 9 years of painting and I will be submitting a portfolio to demonstrate my skill. I usually paint in oil.
Being an international student, I’m not very sure what kind of a portfolio I am required to make for colleges. I had a few questions if anyone can answer them.

  1. Is a specific composition preferred for a portfolio (like a few portraits or still life works and a few oil paintings)?
  2. How many paintings should I typically submit?
  3. Can it have some paintings that I made from other artist's works and are not completely original?
  4. Is there anything else I should know before submitting a portfolio?
