Possible future transfers?

Just looking for advice on possible future transfers. What would be good matches, reaches, etc? Mind, I'm fairly happy where I am right now, and it would probably take something pretty enticing (as in ivy-type stuff) to convince me to leave.

White/Male, though I look hispanic, italian, or anything else slightly brown. :)

Excellent Essay and Recommendations

I actually leave to do the two years of church work in October, so all of this is really at-some-yet-unspecified-date kind of stuff. Still, I need to think ahead because I won't have a lot of time to handle this kind of stuff when I'm in Ukraine, and it's never too early to figure things out. So treat this as if I was applying for next Fall.

Am I completely out of the question for HYPS? And, though I'm almost certain this would be a significant stretch, does anyone have any idea of what I'd look like for Oxbridge, even if it's just as a visiting student for one year? Thanks.

If you're happy where you are, then why do you wish to transfer?

What do you like about BYU and what do you like about each of the Ivies you mentioned?

Princeton doesn't take transfers, btw.

Well, the best part about BYU, in my opinion, is the environment and the people there. Being a very religious person myself, I feel comfortable being surrounded by others with similar convictions and morals. Unfortunately, though, BYU is a school that covers a very large spectrum academically. There are students here who just barely scraped in by the skin of their teeth (when the middle 50% ACT is 25-30), while there are also students who turned down HYPS. Likewise, there are classes here that have excellent, extremely well-qualified professors and excellent subject matter, while there are also courses that are lacking in those areas. If I were to transfer, it would be for purely intellectual reasons - essentially, I would like to be at a school where a larger part of the population are at a higher level both intellectually and academically.

Also, do I really need a reason to want to go to Yale?

P.S. I forgot to add that throughout all four years of high school I attended a religious class every morning (Monday-Friday) at 6am.

smort, yes, u need a reason for wanting to go to yale, since u will need to write an essay about it

Okay, so we've established that I need to want to transfer. Excellent. Does anyone want to give me some useful input on what would be reasonable for me to want to transfer to? Thanks.

Hi. I've finshed first year at university in Serbia. (I am studying Computer Science) and I would like to transfer. Would you recommend me some universities in the USA where SAT 1 is not required and give financial aid or scholarship (I will take SAT 2 (Math level 2 and Physics) and TOEFL, because I am sure that I will apply to MIT and Berkeley.

Thanks :)

SATs are required for MIT & Berkeley

Take the ACt- you'll do good on it...

yes, I know for MIT and Berkeley, but I want to apply on 2 or 3 more, so that's why I am asking... and I really don't like to take SAT 1 or ACT :/

what is your major?

Johns Hopkins doesn't rquire them...California Institute of technology doesn't require it (but you have to take some entrance exams)..I believe you need to take entrance exams for MIT as well although i'm not sure...

noob, you should probably start a new thread because you will probably get more answers that way

Smort, are you asking for more schools to consider? I personally think with that GPA and ACT, you will have a chance everywhere, though your essays/recs will matter a lot too. The numbers just give you a chance. Your essays/recs are the ones that give you admission. Wanting to transfer for intellectual reasons is totally legitimate, so good luck. Though, Harvard, Stanford, and Yale will be extremely difficult--acceptances are in the single digit percents.
