As someone who is interested in potentially majoring in neuroscience (or minoring), what courses would you suggest for first semester? I.e. is it advisable to take Neur 100 now (first semester) or to take a biology or chemistry course? Furthermore, in general, as someone who is pretty certain that they want to major in some sort of science, do you have any recommendations about how to handle the first year?
A couple of general points:
-
Since Wellesley now does pass/fail grades first semester, this is the time to take care of any general requirements that might pull down your GPA. So, for instance, if English isn’t your strong suit, take that required class first semester and get it out of the way without a lower grade affecting your overall GPA.

When picking science classes, I’m not sure one is more advisable than the other for first semester. I would prioritize classes that are prerequisites for something you might want to take second semester, just to get it out of the way.

Don’t overload on lab classes. Give yourself time to adjust to a college workload and lifestyle.
Good luck!
