hi guys, i recently attended an orientation session and picked my classes. although i am a prospective premed, i am slightly hesitant, after some serious reflection, if this is what i really want to do. how easy would it be to drop something like chem lab and replace it with a political science course? is this something that can be done over the summer or would i have to wait until the start of the school year?
You can actually do that yourself very easily, simply download the UIS system from BC’s website and simply log in using your agora username/password and add/drop classes as your please. Its probably a good idea you get this done now since it will be how you register for your next 4 years and become proficient in using it.
You know you’ll have to take two semesters of science eventually no matter your major, right? Chem with Lab may be a good option if you are even considering pre-med. But, there are definitely easier sciences if you’re certain you won’t go the pre-med route.
if you want to drop Chem lab, also drop the lecture portion. They are designed to be taken together.
@bluebayou Is the lecture course the one that meets three times a week for 50 minutes? Or is it something else?
yes, Gen Chem 1109 is linked to lab Chem 1111+a discussion section Chem 1113.
Note, the link says “co-req”, so 109 and 111 must be taken together. UIS should not let you drop just one of them.
