Possible to Transfer Fac?

Is it possible to transfer from Mcgill Management to Arts & Science/ Engineering or maybe just Science? I'm been meddling with the thought of med-school and I believe that is not possible with Management. Unless If it's possible to do a dual degree in biology & finance.

Wld appreciate any replies. Thank you.

As far as I've seen, faculty transfers are pretty simple. You can only apply to transfer at the end of a year though (i.e. not between semesters) and you have to meet the minimum requirements (something like having a B/B+ average? Depends on the faculty, I think), but it's definitely possible.

Also, a little tip: they don't really regulate what classes you take - they trust you to make your own schedule - so if you're certain you're going to transfer, you can even sign yourself up for the science courses you want rather than the management ones, even before you switch faculties!

If I've never taken biology before, can I take it? Or I will be extremely lost?

If that's the case, could I take finance & still fullfill the prerequistes of pre-med?

if you've never taken bio before I feel your really going to struggle in the MCAT exam.

For Mcgill's med school, you require:
* Six or more semester-hours¹ of general/introductory Biology
* Six or more semester-hours¹ of general/introductory Chemistry
* Six or more semester-hours¹ of general/introductory Physics
* Three or more semester-hours¹ of introductory Organic Chemistry

Thus, its essential that you take the introductory bio course in your first year.

I don't quite understand your 'more semester-hours' maxijaz. I have completed both math, Physics and Chemistry at the GCE A level. So how much bio, chem phy do I need to take? I've never taken biology before. But i'm admitted to management, can i do my management while completing the pre-req for med at the same time?

if you've done maths, physics and chem at A level, that should be enough for those courses as you should be exempt from them in U0. However, you will have to do the basic bio course in order to fulfill all the prereq's for med. You can do this even if your in management, as a complimentary course.

What is U0 may I ask? Do I still need to take any phy & chem class in Mcgill to full-filled the pre-med prerequistes? Or do I just need to take the 6 semester-hours of general/introductory Biology?

I do want to complete my undergrad in Mcgill Management and fullfilled pre-med requistes at the same time.

Thank you MaxiJaz for all your replies so far.

I'm in the same boat with Naff (management with pre-med "backup")and really appreciate all the responses coming in. Thanks! And if there is anything else plz lemme know!

Naff, "UO" = Freshman year - I guess it's short for "University Zero year". Since you have "AP" / GCE "A" level credit, you will likely advance to "U1" = Freshman with Sophomore (2nd year) standing. Liao? You don't have to take UO classes for Phy, Chem & Math. You should take "U1" level common subj like Math that can prepare you both for Management & Pre-med, and of course Bio is needed for pre-med. Look up the courses for Management & Pre-med and select the common courses. There are plenty at "UO" level but few at "U1" level.
