So I'm in a difficult situation here. I started off at Penn State and finished my freshman year there. I then transferred to USC. Now I'm feeling kind of homesick and really don't like it as much as I thought I would. I'm considering transferring back to Pitt. Does all this transferring look bad on a resume? I had a 3.5 at Penn St but only a 3.0 at USC so I'm not sure if I'll even get in. I'm an engineering student and still have 3 years left. I'm a year behind because I took a semester off before my transfer and switched engineering majors. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

There are lots of reasons why people transfer and it shouldn’t have an impact on your first job if you have gotten internships and a decent academic record when you graduate. After that it matters even less. If it is important for you to transfer, go for it. 3 years is plenty of time to build your record in your new school.
