Post AP Celebrations?

Gosh, I took 4 this year. Honestly don't know what I was thinking. I took one last year, and that was stressful enough. After I take my last AP on wednesday, I'm gonna FINALLY get a consistent sleep schedule.

You guys got any cool plans?

Prepare for my 6-8 next year.

Wow. That’s brutal.

I’m taking 14 this year as a junior and have no life consequently, I enjoy learning though so it’s a plus (I guess)…next year as a senior and the rest of my life will be much more enjoyable consequently (hopefully)…just to get through the next two weeks of AP Testing. :)

I have an interview right after the APs, which is stressing me out because my interview still hasn’t responded ugh. Then SAT II - yup.

= More stress.

!!!

Erm. Wow. 14. That’s quite a few you got thurr lol

lol 14. I could take that many, but I don’t want them in every subject.

wow, 14 in one year is impressive. I’m planning to take a lot since I’m very good at(and also enjoy) taking tests, but my tests are spread out. For example,
Last year(8th grade) - Calc AB
This year(9th) - Calc BC, Comp Sci, Stat, Physics C:Mech
10th(planning for next year) - Micro, Macro, Bio, Physics C: E&M, Psychology

WTH? Calc AB as an 8th grader? Jesus, you guys make me feel really stupid right about now -.-

You are definitely on your way, starting as an 8th grader. I took none in middle school or 9th grade (I didn’t even know what AP was), and I took 4 as a sophomore. What state are you from, I don’t want any competition for AP State Scholar
I’m in MD, will have 18, hoping for AP State Scholar, what do you guys think? (I saw in 2008, the male that won from MD had 17).

How is that possible?

I’m gonna take 13 spread over 3 years.

To everyone who takes like 5+ APs in a year, how do you manage it with all your extracurriculars/hobbies/talents?

Well, I do archery (used to do baseball, can;t this yr. b/c of APs), numerous hours of community service, Key club, NHS, and academic club, and enjoy the little things while studying for 14 AP exams:) I enjoy learning just about any subject though, so that is my talent and hobby I guess!

State scholar is such a pointless award. It should be based off the student with the highest number of 5s.

@BioAnthroPhys: Wow! Making up for lost time?? I’m taking 12 next - junior - year. Any tips on how to cope with a massive load of AP’s like that?

Taking 12 isn’t that bad. Not all the AP tests are hard. For example, AP Stat/Psych/Euro/Calc/Studio/Spanish/Chem/Bio/Lit/Comp/Gov are all easy. You just have to study for the ones that you aren’t as competent in. I focused on the ones that I knew I would have a hard time in (US) and didn’t do anything for the rest of them. It’s not about how smart you are but how you choose to use your time.

My last exam is this wednesday, but I just took biology today and it wasn’t even half as bad as I expected. I’m feelin pretty great right now. :D

I finish with exams Wednesday. Friday, my friends and I are going to go to the new mini-golf course and dinner. It’s doubling as a first date with the new guy in my life, so it’ll be interesting :)

I’ve been celebrating since 4 PM last Friday, when APEH was done. There are a lot of birthdays and anniversaries in my family this week, so even if they aren’t for me, I’ve been having a fun week of parties and dinners. And I plan to have a bonfire with all my notes. :)

I took 6 over my whole high school career and got into Dartmouth… just saying…
