Wow that was an amazing test! Some of the recordings were difficult to understand because of "additional and unnecessary" noises. Some of the readings were also random. I didn't know the proctors weren't allowed to tell us how much time was left, so I had 4 or 5 blank (which I randomly filled in).

The interpersonal writing and presentational writing were really easy. The essay topic was a little random, but I think I did great.

The speaking portion went way better than I was expecting. The conversation went well, except I said bye like 5 times in different ways and ran out of ideas in the end (does it really take 20 seconds to say bye?). The presentational speaking went amazing. I had to talk extremely fast just so I could fit it all in (I forgot to include the future tense though :().

My proctor split us into two groups to ensure we could do our recordings in peace, but unfortunately the first group took like an hour. My group went second and it took 20 min less. Now I'm home after a 6 hour test. Time to study for calc!

I'm really hoping for a 5 because I want six years of taking Spanish to culminate in something good. A 4 would make me sad. I'm expecting the curve for the readings to be large though.

Just finished it. It went mostly well, better than expected. Listening was actually easier than expected, and I think only one of the four reading passages gave me trouble. The interpersonal and presentational writing prompts were both pretty easy, although I ran out of some things to say in the formal writing.

Speaking was mostly solid. Our group was split into 3 small groups so luckily the computer lab wasn’t too crowded. The conversation went pretty well; I just stumbled a bit here and there. I’m not too happy about the oral presentation because I was on a roll for like a minute and then I started to run out of things to say so I was stammering and struggling, and then I just froze and left the last 6-7 seconds blank, lol. Otherwise, the exam was good and I’m just glad it’s done.

i didnt finish on the formal speaking. like i got in my 3 facts from each and all that and completed the task but didn’t wrap up at all…didnt even sound close. is that bad? can they take off for not concluding if i still completed the task…? i was doing really well but then i heard the stupid beep .__.
other than that, it was okay. one of the readings was hard.

^^^
The formal speaking is graded out of five. If you were on the cusp it might push you down to a four or three, but won’t matter if you were solidly a five. And with three facts from each you won’t get any lower than three unless you had lots of grammar problems.

^That (and my estimation of accounting for differences in the exams between then and now) says my chance is around 40-50% =(

I did well on the listenings except for one, and then the reading comp destroyed me. The free response part was fine but that link said I have like a lower chance of getting a 5 now. Ahhhh I dunno what to do. I need a 5 for my college =(. Freaking out, any advice, anyone?

What’s up with them not telling us how much time is left! I’m on the last passage waiting for them to say 5 mins left or something & she’s just like stop working & I’m like =o

I had to have had the most rude, mean, and dumbest proctors ever.

Listening was actually very good. Reading comprehension was rape (especially the last two passages). Not sure if I can mention specifics, but yeah, no idea what was going on there. Writing was pretty good for me, which it usually is. Conversational speaking was a real disappointment (I pretty much froze) whereas the presentational one was perfect. I was going in expecting a 2, but I’m hoping for a 4.

I totally screwed up the interpersonal speaking, as expected. But I really wish I hadn’t frozen on the formal writing; I ended up crossing out a whole paragraph, and I’m sure in the end I didn’t get to 200 words. I was expecting that to be my strongest area, too.

Ugh.

(I don’t even want to know about the “three facts” thing. I hadn’t heard of that until I read this thread.)

the “3 facts” is probly something his teacher told him to do. I’ve never heard of that either. Also, not concluding is not a problem at all. Listen to any of the speaking portion exampls on CB. Barely any of them finish logically. I just got cut off talking about vitamins haha.

If you did really well for like the first 45-60 seconds of the Presentational Speaking but kind of froze up and left the last 30-60 seconds blank would you automatically get a 1 on that section? Or is it possible to get a 2 out of five? In general, do you have to talk for the entire amount of time allotted to get 3+ out of 5 on the speaking sections?

@coberator02
It’s quite hard to get a 1. A 1 is when you say a few words like “Hoy vamos a hablar sobre… si.” - This according to the college board. Judging by what you’ve said you probably got a 2-3 on the oral.

I think the free response questions were by far the easiest I ever encountered during all the review I have done. Not trying to sound like a snob here, but I attend a private New England school so only one kid gets an A- while everyone gets a B. I am the A student usually, so since the grade on my transcript is more important than the AP, I did not feel too much stress! I hope I got a 5. I hate when people post things like “I would be so sad if I got a 4.” Stop. People would kill for that grade. Have some decorum please. Sorry for the rant, it just annoys me.

The speaking prompts were easy, but I started a bit late on the one regarding the birds. I had to make some educated guesses. I think the Reading Comp was easy except the third passage, since it was really linguistic!

The curve is going to be massive guys, so don’t worry.
