Post-Bacc Pre-Med or Second Bachelor's??

I graduated last spring with a BA in Psychology, and since then have decided to pursue an MD. Before I can do that, though, I need to get all the required pre-med coursework, and I'm not sure if I should pursue a second Bachelor's degree or go for a post-bacc pre-med program.

My main concerns (like most folks) are the cost of tuition for both, as well as program length. The post-bacc pre-med programs are tailored to provide all the necessary curriculum, but the ones I'm looking into are pretty pricey (even at the cheap public university I originally attended).

Also, is it worth it to shoot for a well-known school for either a second bachelors or pre-med program? Do med schools take prestige into account? I would assume so, but I'm not sure how much that factors in.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

There’s no need for a second bachelors in order to take the courses for the pre-med requirements. Doing so will only require you to take other courses that aren’t premed requirements.

You could do an informal postbacc… basically enroll as a non-degree student and take the classes you need.
